Description
Plasma collected from systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) donors via OrganaBio’s HemaCenter apheresis subsidiary (wholly owned, FDA-registered). Each donor screened against 14 infectious disease markers under 21 CFR 1271 with NGS HLA typing across six genes. Sourced from OrganaBio’s qualified, recallable donor pool. Best fit: autoantibody profiling, complement and inflammatory cytokine work, and disease-state-vs-healthy plasma comparisons in autoimmune research.
HemaPAC-PL-SLE – Plasma from Donors with Systemic Lupus Erythematosus
HemaPAC-PL-SLE is cryopreserved plasma collected from donors diagnosed with Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE). Plasma from lupus donors carries the proteomic signature of chronic autoimmune inflammation, including elevated levels of cytokines such as IL-6, IL-17, and IFN-γ that have shaped donor immune cells over time.
Why SLE Donor Plasma
Therapeutic candidates and assays validated using healthy donor plasma can perform differently when exposed to the inflammatory milieu of patient samples. SLE plasma supports work on biomarker discovery, immune signaling studies, autoantibody profiling, and disease-specific assay development. It is also used as a representative biological matrix for assay validation in autoimmune drug development programs.
Documentation
Donors are enrolled under IRB-approved protocols with verified clinical diagnosis of SLE. Each sample is accompanied by disease history, treatment background, inclusion and exclusion criteria documentation, and demographic profile. Every lot ships with a Certificate of Analysis.
Configuration
1 mL aliquots, cryopreserved, stored at <−150°C in liquid nitrogen vapor phase. For preclinical research use only and not for use in humans.
Other Indications Available
Disease-state plasma is available across autoimmune (lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, multiple sclerosis, type 1 diabetes, Crohn’s, psoriasis, celiac), oncology, and chronic inflammatory indications. Contact the scientific team to confirm availability for specific conditions.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is HemaPAC-PL-SLE used for?
HemaPAC-PL-SLE is plasma from systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) donors, used for autoantibody profiling, complement and inflammatory cytokine work, and disease-state-vs-healthy plasma comparisons in autoimmune research.
How is the SLE plasma collected?
Plasma is collected via OrganaBio’s HemaCenter apheresis subsidiary (wholly owned, FDA-registered) under IRB-approved donor consent.
What screening do SLE plasma donors undergo?
Each donor is screened against 14 infectious disease markers per 21 CFR 1271 (HIV-1/2, hepatitis B/C, HTLV-I/II, West Nile, Chagas) plus CMV, EBV, and alloantibodies. NGS HLA typing across HLA-A, B, C, DR, DQ, DP is provided.
Are SLE plasma donors recallable?
Yes. OrganaBio maintains a recallable donor pool of 1,000+ qualified donors, allowing repeat collections from the same donor for longitudinal studies.
Can I get larger volumes or custom specifications?
Yes. Custom volumes, donor characteristics, and HLA-specific selections are available. Contact OrganaBio for quotes on non-standard requests.
