OrganaBio Communications — Business development and strategic updates from OrganaBio, Inc.
OrganaBio is pleased to announce the expansion of its cell therapy CTDMO capabilities through the acquisition of Excellos Labs, a San Diego-based cell therapy manufacturing organization offering ISO 7 cGMP suite access, T cell and NK cell manufacturing, apheresis collection, and PBMC isolation services on the West Coast.
The addition of Excellos Labs extends OrganaBio’s bi-coastal manufacturing network and enables program teams at clinical-stage biotechs, academic medical centers, and pharmaceutical developers to access cGMP-compliant cell therapy manufacturing support in both Miami, FL and San Diego, CA — two of the most active hubs for cell and gene therapy development in the United States.
What Excellos Labs Brings to OrganaBio
Excellos Labs operates an ISO 7 cGMP manufacturing suite in San Diego, CA, with capabilities that complement and extend OrganaBio’s existing Miami infrastructure:
- Apheresis collection — leukapheresis and apheresis procedures conducted in a CTDMO setting with donor recruitment and HLA coordination
- PBMC isolation — density gradient and closed-system isolation of peripheral blood mononuclear cells with viability and functional characterization
- T cell manufacturing — expansion, activation, and formulation workflows supporting CAR T and TCR therapy development programs
- NK cell manufacturing — expansion and cryopreservation workflows for allogeneic NK cell therapy development
- ISO 7 cGMP suite access — dedicated cGMP cleanroom capacity for sponsor teams requiring West Coast manufacturing flexibility
A More Complete CTDMO Network for Cell Therapy Programs
The combined OrganaBio and Excellos Labs network now offers program teams a single CTDMO relationship that spans starting material sourcing, processing, quality system oversight, and cGMP manufacturing from two geographically distributed facilities. This structure is particularly relevant for multi-site clinical trials, sponsor organizations headquartered on the West Coast, and programs that require redundant manufacturing capacity across IND development and Phase I/II execution.
OrganaBio’s existing capabilities — leukopak and PBMC supply, mesenchymal stromal cell and hematopoietic stem cell products, 19,000 sq ft ISO 7 cGMP manufacturing in Miami, FL, apheresis collection through HemaCenter, and perinatal tissue through GaiaGift — are unchanged. Excellos Labs operates as a wholly owned subsidiary with its own regulatory registrations and cGMP oversight.
Working with Excellos Labs
Sponsors and CDOs interested in Excellos Labs capabilities can reach OrganaBio’s business development team through the OrganaBio contact page or visit www.excelloslabs.com directly. Excellos Labs is accepting new program inquiries for T/NK cell manufacturing, cGMP suite subleasing, and PBMC supply from West Coast donors.
OrganaBio remains committed to its mission of enabling excellence in the delivery of life-changing therapies — and the Excellos Labs addition is a direct extension of that commitment, giving more development teams access to the CTDMO infrastructure and scientific expertise their programs require.
